Two levels of deck, a metal roof over the porch, and a lawn that runs down to the seawall.

Chapter I — Arrive in Old Florida
Twenty minutes off the highway
The road narrows, the oaks close in, and where time finally lets go.
Old Homosassa
A fishing village that never got redeveloped — blue crab traps stacked on the docks, one good bar, no gates.
Mason Creek
Tucked away on a quiet no-through street, wide Florida water begins just beyond the private dock.

Chapter II — Cast Off

The Rusty Hook Riverhouse is tucked away on a quiet no-through street in Old Homosassa, one house on its own stretch of Mason Creek, with wide Florida water beginning just beyond the private dock. Pull into the drive. Carry the cooler up. From here the rest of the week happens between the dock and the deck — however you decide to spend it.
Private waterfront · Private dock · Kayaks, crab traps, open water
Chapter III — Life on Mason Creek
The days feel different here — told the way the creek tells it, sideways and slowly.

A deck with nothing in the way of the view

Cable rails, loungers, and a straight line down the waterway.

The long porch, where the afternoon goes

Fans turning, wicker chairs, the best seat in the house when it rains.

Everything, from directly above

Dock, lawn, deck, water — the whole geometry of a slow week.
Chapter IV — Inside the Riverhouse
Every room in this house made a decision. Move through them in any order — the house doesn't mind.
Chapter V — The Colour Hour
Nobody chose beige here. Coral runs up the bathroom walls, aqua turns up in the floor cushions, and the navy in the kitchen is deep enough to feel like evening at noon.
It is a house with opinions — and it makes photographs of your week that look like somewhere, not anywhere.

Stone counters, brass hardware, open timber shelves, and a window that keeps score on the waterway while somebody else does the dishes.

Chapter VI — Through the House
Then a door, and the noise drops away.

When the sun starts to set
As the sun drops over Mason Creek, the water turns to glass and the sky paints itself across the river. Whether you're relaxing on the dock, enjoying dinner on the porch, or simply taking in the view, these are the moments guests remember long after they leave.
Reserve Your StayChapter VII — Stay Awhile
Navy walls, rattan sofas, a poker table, a queen Murphy bed with its own full bathroom, a tin-look drop ceiling and a mini fridge (bring your own supplies). When the sky turns, nobody goes home — they come down here.

Chapter VIII — The Nature Coast
The water out here is the whole point, and most of what people plan a week around happens on it.

None of the above is included with the house, arranged by the owners, or guaranteed. Charters, licences, seasons and bag limits are yours to arrange — and worth checking before you go.
